Rebuild Collective was founded in 2023 by De Peter Yi, a licensed architect and designer. He is an Assistant Professor in Architecture at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), where he is a coordinator for the Simpson Collaborative for Urban Futures. He is the author of Building Subjects (Standpunkte, 2019). His work has been awarded the SOM Foundation Research Prize, AIA Upjohn Research Initiative, the Graham Foundation Grant for Individuals, the Rice Design Alliance Houston Design Research Grant, and has been published in Log, OZ, the Architect’s Newspaper, the LA Times, Bracket, and Plat. He has also practiced with 1+1+ Architects (as co-founder and co-director), Studio Gang Archiects, WW Architecture, The Open Workshop, LAMAS, and 1100 Architect, and taught at the University of Michigan, where he was the 2018-2019 Walter Sanders Research Fellow.
